Dana Mitchell Counseling Services
I see female-identifying adolescents and adults, ages 14 and up, for individual counseling.
Sessions may be either 50 or 75 minutes long, which is determined by client and therapist together, based on client needs and my availability.
I use my training as an educator to provide workshops that explore group patterns, practice interpersonal flexibility, loosen creative blocks, and increase playful collaboration. Our time together can be customized to meet your needs, using large and small group activities, as well as individual prompts for reflection. The experience will include a combination of embodied theatre exercises, written responses, and group dialogue.
We will meet once beforehand to plan your time, and a short debrief/feedback session will follow the workshop.
Pricing is based on number of individuals attending, time allotted, and travel. Workshops may be conducted in your space or at my office in Ballard. Contact me for more information.
Standard 50 minute session: $130
For those not using insurance, I do have a sliding scale to make mental health care more accessible. Cost depending on availability.
I am an in-network provider with Premera Blue Cross. I am also in the process of becoming an in-network provider with First Choice Health (Kaiser PPO plans).
Some plans may provide out-of-network benefits, and I am willing to provide a receipt that you can use to file for reimbursement from your insurance company. It is your responsibility to check with your insurance company to confirm benefits.
A note on using insurance:
Insurance companies require a diagnosis on file to reimburse for services. That diagnosis may or may not remain a part of your health care records for an indeterminate amount of time. Insurance companies also reserve the right to audit treatment, determining length of sessions and frequency of appointments. I will always advocate for the best care for my clients; you are invited to be aware of the role your insurance company may play in that process.
At this time all of my sliding scale spots are full. If you need a low-cost option for therapy, I recommend MEND Seattle, located in Lower Queen Anne. For prospective clients, I offer a 15 minute phone consultation at no cost to you. During this time we will see if we are a good fit, and if not, I can help refer you to other providers.
